Krystyn Nakamura
Krystyn Nakamura is a freelance editorial and commercial fashion, product, and cosmetic stylist located in Brooklyn, NY. She was originally born, and raised, in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. She followed her passion for styling, which brought her to the Bay Area. She just recently received her BFA at the Academy of Art University in May 2018, as well as her certificate of completion in the social media program. Krystyn loves the transformative aspect that clothes and beauty products have. Through styling, she loves to uses garments, accessories, cosmetics, skincare, and haircare as her medium of choice to articulate and communicate her concept to tell a story.
Aside from just styling, Krystyn has other fashion experience, such as being a backstage dresser to SF's Giorgio Armani, Creative Growth Beyond Trend, Vionic, and Nima Shiraz for Alchemy by Atla fashion shows. She has also worked at BCBGMAXAZRIA San Francisco as a manager, and Hawaii's House of Aria boutique as a fashion stylist. This is where she developed visual merchandising, styling, and logistic skills. During her time at AAU she also lived in Los Angeles while interning in the summer at the luxury design house, Rodarte. Krystyn is currently still with LVMH's Sephora retail store in New York as a Sales and Services Coordinator.
Krystyn has been published in 33 Magazine, 7 HUES (digital and print), BobCut, Bring Me Magazine, Dreamingless, Estela, Fรฉroce (digital and print), Huf, Period, The Editorial QC, This Bitch, Toksick magazine, Vogue Italia, Volition, Vulkan and YOHO! GIRL China (digital and print).
She has also assisted on Still-Life setโs for cosmetic brands Nars, MAC, Bare Minerals, Fashion Fair, Algenist, Elf, Covergirl and Estee Lauder.
